The NBA's Back

Basketball fans rejoice! Games supposedly will resume on Christmas with a triple header, Celtics vs. Knicks, Heat vs. Mavs, and the Lakers vs. the Bulls. While the lockout has left a sour taste in my mouth, as I'm sure it has for most fans, I'm still excited that the league is back!!!!

Swoon Worthy: Tavior Mowry

Meet the youngest member of the Mowry clan, Tavior Mowry. He is 18, a football player for UC Davis, and he is definitely swoon worthy! You can check him out on his twitter and his tumblr page. I'm sure the young lad is driving the girls crazy out there in Davis, California. Go Aggies!!! lol

Thanksgiving

As Thanksgiving ends I sit here watching The Wire and thinking about the memories I made today. I didn't get to go home but I enjoyed great food and great times with my friend and her family. I was sad at first because I wanted to be home eating my mom's greens, but the day turned out pretty good. This Thanksgiving I have a lot to be thankful for so I thought I'd make a short list. I try to do this in my journal every once in a while, it helps me stay focused and grateful for all the many blessings in my life. I encourage you all to do the same, it's very beneficial.

here are few things i'm thankful for:

· Great family

· Great friends

· Being a senior at the prestigious Spelman College (God is good)

· Having a strong relationship with Christ

· My health

· Laughter and laugh lines

· My weight loss and my new fit and active lifestyle

· Peace of mind

· Belonging to a great church

· Being a leader and, nore importantly, a servant

· For all the opportunities that God has and is giving me

· For the great and powerful future that God has placed in front of me

Unbelievable

Dang, I still can't believe that Heavy D died, It's just so unbelievable to me. I was so excited when he performed on the BET Awards last month. I mean the guy is just so lovable, how can you not fall in love with Heavy D. I just can't wrap my head around it. I chose this song to post because I used to jam to it every time it came on VH1 Soul. I love this song so much. I don't think I ever fully wrap my head around the fact that Heavy D died, I just can't.

Halloween 2011

I know it's late but I had to tell you guys about my Halloween festivities. Halloween weekend was so much fun, and unexpected. I thought I was going to spend the weekend shut up in my room doing homework. At the last minute I was invited to a party and decided to go even though I didn’t know anyone there. I’m so glad that I did though, it was so much fun and I met a lot of cool people. Towards the end of the night we braved the Atlanta chill and went outside to carve pumpkins. My friend and I carved this one, she drew it free hand and wee both carved it out. I have to say we did a pretty awesome job for first timers. *pats self on the back* On Halloween I got to spend time with friends and I watched my favorite Halloween movie, Hocus Pocus. Over all Halloween 2011 was one of the best Halloween's I ever had, definitely one for the books!



Fall

My ears are in a state of euphoria right now. This new Common song is EVERYTHING. I can't wait for The Dreamer/The Believer to drop in December, I'm gonna be the first in line. Don't mistake the name of the song though, there is nothing sweet about Com's flow on this one. So glad to have the old Common back!
