Long Live The King

Last night we went to go see The Lion King in 3D and this is exactly how I felt. I was a little hurt though because the tickets were 15 bucks, but it was worth it. It was so much fun (and a little annoying) because everyone knew the words and would sing along to the songs. The Lion King to me, as I'm sure for most people, is much more than just a movie and seeing it in 3D was like a dream come true. The best part was the Simba/Scar battle scene at the end, the 3D took that scene to a whole new level. Be sure to go see it befor it leaves theatres, it's so worth it!!!!!

RIP Troy Davis and Officer Mark MacPhail.

Little Myss Sunshine

God is a God of broken things.

If we were perfect we wouldn’t need Him. He intentionally created us with holes, holes that only He can fill. He created us to thirst after Him, he wants us to want Him. He subjected us to brokeness on purpose. When we seek completion from the things of this world, it’s like trying to force the square piece into the triangular hole… it just doesn’t fit. Nothing can complete us except God, He alone has the power to fill the holes and to make us whole. He alone.

Quote Of The Day

"Complain about the liquor store but what you drinking liquor for?
Complain about the gloom but when’d you pick a broom up?
Just listening to Pac aint gone make it stop
A rebel in your thoughts, aint gon make it halt

Put Your Twos In The Air

Today on the 15th anniversary of his death, The Atlanta University Center held a block party to celebrate the opening of a Tupac exhibit at the Robert W. Woodruff Library. There was spoken word and performance by former students of the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts. It broke my heart when one of the kids broke down in the middle of his performance. It is inspirational to see how one mans life can have such a profound effect on people of all generations. His sister, Sekyiwa Kai Shakur, spoke on her brothers legacy and his heart for the people. She expressed her gratitude, through tears of joy, for the exhibit and the way that the AUC has honored her brothers life. It was a great event and I'm glad to be apart of an community that celebrates the life and influence of one of my personal heroes.

RIP Tupac, your legacy forever lives on in all of us.

What an amazing photo, wow! This past weekend I spent time in North Carolina with my cousin. I almost cried when she talked to her daughter and asked her what she knew about the events that perspired that day. I admired my cousin for making sure that the younger generation never forgets this fateful moment in American History. I commend her.

Each year my heart breaks for all the children who lost their parents that day. I know what it's like to lose a parent a young age, but I don't know what it's like to lose them in such a tragic way. God bless them, and God Bless America. Despite all it's many problems, I so glad that I live in the USA.

Never Forgotten.

Texas My Texas

Oh Texas how I miss thee when I'm away but I hate thee when I have to stay.

I've been having a lot of dreams lately, and all my dreams have a propenscity of coming true. It actually scares me sometimes how realistic and symbolic my dreams are. I feel like I've discovered a third eye or something. I just need some help in understanding my dreams or understanding what to do with them. When I dream about people I often times tell them about it, and it helps them in some way. Lately though, I've been having some scary dreams about people and places. When that happens I'm reluctant to tell the person because I don't won't them to be scared or wiered out. I don't know what's going on with me, but I need some type of direction or guidance with this new found clairvoyance.

Spelman, thy name we praise

Took this so my cousin could see my hair, but I kinda like it.

Throwback Thursday

WOW! That's me on the far left. This picture was taken at the eight grade dance, now eight years later I'm now a senior in college. Back then I wanted to be grown, now I wish I could have those years back. Time really does fly. WOW man, just WOW!

(Just realized how much this pic makes me miss playing basketball. We were all on the A-Team, yes even my short whittle self. Crazy!)
